Technology Enabled Care

What is TEC?

Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is a proactive, non-intrusive system designed to support and monitor daily routines using sensors (no cameras involved). By tracking patterns such as bathroom use, fluid intake, and mobility, TEC can identify potential health issues before they escalate. This early detection can potentially highlight possible underlying medical conditions before they become serious.

Managed by family, friends, or legal representatives, TEC also benefits from oversight and support from Later Life Care when needed. The system allows for custom notifications, such as alerts if a door sensor is triggered in the middle of the night—ideal for dementia care—or if there’s no activity detected before 10 a.m., like no kettle use. These notifications are fully customisable are sent directly to your app, keeping you and your loved ones informed.

How it works?

What To Expect With TEC?

TEC transforms how we care for your loved ones. Discreet sensors on doors, fridges, cupboards, and other key places help ensure they're following their daily routine, eating, drinking, and using the bathroom. The app collects this data, allowing families to monitor their loved ones easily and accurately, giving peace of mind. Our proactive system tracks daily activities and alerts families and care professionals to any changes before they become critical. This technology supports timely interventions, helping individuals live safely and independently for longer. Whether at home or in care settings, TEC offers superior, cost-effective care, maximizing support for more people. It can be used in an independent living capacity, alongside home-care, and can also help determine an assessment of needs.

Smart Door Sensors: Monitoring Daily Routines for Peace of Mind

what is tec.jpeg

Imagine Mrs. Thompson, an elderly woman living alone in Norfolk. Her daughter, Sarah, often worries about her well-being, especially since she lives in a secluded area. To keep an eye on her, Sarah installs smart door sensors around the home. One morning, Sarah receives an alert on her phone about unusual activity—her mother has been going in and out of the bathroom frequently. Sensing something might be wrong, Sarah checks the app and confirms the pattern. Concerned, she calls her mother, who admits she’s been using the toilet more due to feeling unwell but didn’t want to worry her. Thanks to the smart sensors, Sarah quickly ensures her mother gets the care she needs.

Smart Plugs: Monitoring Daily Habits for Better Care

In a similar situation, Mr. Johnson, an elderly man, has difficulty remembering to stay hydrated throughout the day. His caregiver, Lucy, uses smart plugs connected to Mr. Johnson's kettle to monitor how often it's being used. Before her next visit, Lucy checks the remote monitoring app and notices that Mr. Johnson has only made two drinks since their morning call. Thanks to this smart technology, Mr. Johnson's care team can have a conversation with him about increasing his daily fluid intake. By sharing the data from the smart plugs, they can discuss strategies to help him improve his hydration habits.

Motion Sensors: Ensuring Safety Through Activity Monitoring

Mrs. Evans, an elderly woman living alone, usually spends her mornings moving around the house, tending to various tasks. One afternoon, the motion sensors installed in her home detect an extended period of inactivity in the living room. The monitoring system promptly sends an alert to Mrs. Evans' daughter, who becomes concerned that something might be wrong. She immediately contacts her mother, who reassures her that she's ok, and just a little tired and has had a long nap, hence the lack of activity. While there was no emergency, the alert allowed her daughter to ensure her mother's well-being, offering peace of mind.
